RoboCraft Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 October 2026

RoboCraft is a learning app for ICSE/ISC students (Classes 9–11) studying Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. This policy explains what information the app uses, why, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain language because most of our users are students.

1. You can use RoboCraft without an account

In guest mode everything you do (lessons completed, quiz scores, saved designs, practical-file entries, code you write) is stored only on your device. Nothing is sent to us.

2. Information we collect if you create an account

DataWhyWhere it is stored
Email address and display nameTo sign you in and reset your passwordGoogle Firebase Authentication
Learning progress (class, chapters completed, scores, XP, streaks, settings)To sync your progress across devicesGoogle Cloud Firestore, in a record only you can read
Leaderboard nickname, emoji avatar, class, weekly XP and optional group codeOnly if you choose to join the leaderboardCloud Firestore (visible to other signed-in students)
Problem reports you send (the message you type, the page, and the AI text you are reporting)To fix mistakes and remove unsafe AI repliesCloud Firestore (not visible to other users)

We do not collect your phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, or advertising ID. There are no ads in RoboCraft and we never sell personal information.

3. AI features

When you use an AI feature (AI Mentor, "explain differently", answer marking, project ideas), the question or answer you type is sent to our server running on Cloudflare Workers AI to generate a reply. It is checked by an automatic safety filter. We do not attach your name or email to these requests. Replies may be cached for a short time so that identical questions are answered faster. AI replies can be wrong — every AI reply has a Report button, and your teacher's marking is always final.

4. Data that stays on your device

Saved 3-D designs, Arduino code, practical-file details (name, roll number, school), downloaded PDFs, and app preferences are kept in your device's storage. They are deleted when you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.

4b. Cookies and local storage

RoboCraft sets no advertising or tracking cookies. It uses your browser's local storage to remember your class, theme, progress, saved designs and circuits, and (when signed in) a Firebase session token so you stay logged in. You can clear all of it from your browser settings or by uninstalling the app; nothing in it is shared with anyone else.

5. Permissions

6. Children and students

RoboCraft is designed for secondary-school students (about 13–17 years old). Students under 13 should use guest mode or have a parent or teacher create the account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Firestore security rules allow each student to read and write only their own progress record.

8. Deleting your data

Open Settings → Delete account in the app. This permanently deletes your account and your synced progress. You can also email us (below) to request deletion; we will complete it within 30 days. Leaderboard entries are removed when you delete your account or leave the leaderboard.

9. Service providers

Google Firebase (authentication and database) — firebase.google.com/support/privacy; Cloudflare Workers AI (AI replies) — cloudflare.com/privacypolicy; jsDelivr CDN (downloads the Python interpreter, no personal data).

10. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
