RoboCraft is used by school students on phones, tablets and computers, and we want everyone to be able to study with it.
What we aim for
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. We test the app with a keyboard, with the browser zoomed, in light and dark themes, and with an automated contrast check on every screen.
What already works
- Light and dark themes that follow your device setting, with text contrast checked against the AA thresholds.
- A "skip to content" link, one main landmark per page and headings in order.
- The whole app works with a keyboard; focus stays visible.
- Text scales with your browser or system font-size setting; nothing is in a fixed-size image.
- Buttons and links have text labels or an aria-label, and icons are never the only clue.
- Everything except the AI features and the Python playground works offline.
Known gaps
- The 3-D studio, the robot arena and the circuit canvas are drawn on a canvas and need sight and a pointer or touch. Their results (status, serial output, measurements, checklists) are written in text beside them, but the drawing itself has no screen-reader equivalent yet.
- Some labels and figures are small; use your browser or system zoom.
- Diagrams have captions but not yet a full text description of every figure.
- The app has not been tested end to end with a screen reader.
Tell us about a problem
If something is hard to use, please tell us through the Report button inside the app (Settings → Report a problem) or through the contact page. Say which screen you were on and what happened; we will reply and fix what we can.
